Famous for the French colonies and the cafes, I was eager to reach Pondicherry and experience France in India. The road journey from Chennai had been very refreshing with narial pani breaks and the salt pans that came on the way.
After a long time we had planned a family trip to Pondicherry, which had been on my travel list for years. As we entered we were welcomed by a bunch of cafes at every corner of the street, and beautiful houses with French architecture. The most striking factor of the city was that the houses were very colourful with lots of colourful flora all around that made the city look pretty.
The city holds in it some of the most beautiful beaches of the country, with fresh salty air and the smell of the gajras tickling your nose. The city is full with humble people ready to help you with any problem.
Brush up on your appetite for drinking and eating French and Italian food before taking a trip to Pondicherry and the city promises to rejuvenate you before you start your hectic weekend.
